BRAD NEWS IS GOOD NEWS FOR BEARS

Central Coast Bears have appointed Kangaroos legend Brad Clyde as their football manager as their quest for NRL inclusion gains further momentum.

The addition of the highly respected Clyde, the only man to win the Clive Churchill medal twice, is another important step for the North Sydney Bears as they try to rejoin the league as a Gosford-based Central Coast side.

Clyde will take on the football management duties, a role he held at the Bulldogs until last year. "I haven't spent a season away from football since the age of five, so it's exciting to get my hands back on the footy, so to speak," Clyde said.

"It's something I'm really looking forward to. Flo [Bears chief executive Greg Florimo] is looking after a lot of the big-picture stuff and it's dragging him away from the everyday operations and that's where I'll be helping out."

Having appointed Clyde, released a new logo and earmarked David Fairleigh and Chris Heighington as their inaugural coach and captain respectively, the Bears are now confident of finding private investors.
