David Fairleigh will help the North Sydney Bears players when he comes on board as Central Coast Bears director of coaching next month.

Fairleigh, who was a Parramatta assistant coach this year, will oversee the football operations on the Central Coast and North Sydney and help the Bears NSW Cup coach Wayne Lambkin.

The news came as they announced they would open a Central Coast Bears office in Erina within a month.

“This is very exciting and it feels like we are making good headway now,” Bears football manager Greg Florimo said. “We have certainly engaged the North Sydney side of the franchise but now it’s important that we put the same effort into the Central Coast and this will be the launching pad so the people of the coast see we are serious.”

The November 20 opening will also be the launch of a Central Coast Bears website and a membership drive.

The bid team is still working on its proposal for the NRL.

“We are putting together our financial package and want to make sure it is complete and irresistible,” Florimo said.

“We are confident we will have a package they can’t refuse.”
