Bears Feeder Structure

The North Sydney District Rugby League and the North Sydney Junior Rugby League, combine to provide opportunities for players to progress their skills and desires to play Rugby League at the highest level possible. Many players that have progressed through the Bears System have performed at the NRL, State & International level.

Opportunities are offered through development teams in the Under 13’s, Under 14’s and Under 15’s age groups, along with representative teams in The Harrold Matthews Cup (under 16’s) and S.G Ball (Under 18’s).

In 2009 The North Sydney District Club formed an agreement with the South Sydney Rugby League Football Club for the Bears premiership team to act as a feeder club to the South Sydney NRL team. Additionally, the South Sydney National Youth U20s Team became available as a feeder to the Bears premiership side.

To accommodate the North Sydney Bears Senior contracted players who are not selected for the Intrust Super Premiership throughout the season, the Bears have also partnered with open age teams in the Sydney Shield and Ron Massey Cup Competitions. These partnerships also allow opportunities for emerging North Sydney Junior Representatives to have experience in open age competition.
