The North Sydney Bears were saddened to hear about the passing of ex-Bear and Life Member Jim Schroder on Sunday.
Jim (player number 597) was a big front-row forward who played for the Bears between 1962 – 1970. After retiring from playing first-grade footy, Jim went on to be a part of the North Sydney Bears Executive Committee and became a First Grade Selector for many years. He is often described as โ€œa very kind bloke and larger than lifeโ€.
Jim will be farewelled by family and friends in Tumut on Monday.
The North Sydney Bears send our condolences to the Schroder family and thank Jim for a lifetime of support for the mighty Red & Black.
Here is a great article by Men of League Foundation about Jim:…/
* Jim’s last name is actually spelled Schroder and not as recorded on his football card.
