Before being taken out for the remainder of the 2024 season and requiring ACL reconstructive surgery, Riley Meyn scored 5 tries in 10 rounds and showed extreme power and skill in both attack and defence. Great to have him back for the 2025 season
Nathniel Roache returns for his second season in the red & black. Playing only four games in 2024 due to sustaining a Lisfranc injury in round 1, Roache is ready to make 2025 a big season on the field. He is a smart playing hooker with both strength and speed, ready to lead from the front. Welcome back Nate
After re-joining the Bears in round 19 this year, it’s great to see Coby Thomas back again for 2025! This agile play maker is a great addition to the squad
Big Phil Makatoa returns for his third season with the Bears. Makatoa is a powerhouse front rower who makes a big impact in defence and trains like a storm trooper. Welcome back Phil!
Our first new player signing announcement is Morgan Harper. Harper brings to the Bears solid NRL game time experience as a centre with Manly Sea Eagles (2020 – 2023), Canterbury Bulldogs (2019 -2020) and this season with the Parramatta Eels. He has also represented the Māori All Stars and was a Junior Kiwi. Great to have Harper on board for 2025!
Returning to the Bears after playing in our 2018 Jersey Flegg team is Trey Brown who has made the switch from QCup to NSW Cup this season. Brown is an experienced Hooker and a handy goal kicker, with 92 QCup games under his belt with the bulk of his senior playing career at the Central Queensland Capras. Welcome back Trey!
