WHAT A DAY. WHAT A RESULT. WHAT A FUTURE.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Norths Cammeray on Friday for the Red & Black Foundation Lunch.

Together, we raised more than $50,000 on the day — an incredible result and a powerful demonstration of what happens when the Bears community comes together.

Every dollar raised through the Red & Black Foundation will be invested directly into the future of our proud club — supporting junior representative programs, female pathways, player development, community initiatives and the creation of a high-performance facility that will provide elite training and development opportunities for our senior and junior teams.

All contributions help build something bigger than a football team. It is helping build the future of the Bears.

Guests enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of food, conversation and entertainment, with rugby league greats Kevin Walters and Brian McDermott sharing their stories and insights, expertly guided by our MC, Tim Gilbert.

We also had a special moment as Greg Florimo soft-launched his new book, Stand Aside: Greg Florimo and the Return of the Mighty North Sydney Bears. The response was fantastic, with many guests eager to get their hands on a copy and pre-order the story of one of the greatest eras — and greatest players — in Bears history.

And then came a moment that will be remembered for a long time.

With media from major newspapers and television networks gathered in the room, we crossed live to Perth for the unveiling of the inaugural 2027 Perth Bears home jersey.

As the huge banners rolled down from the light towers at the WACA, revealing the jersey for the first time, the reaction from the crowd was unmistakable. There was a genuine sense of excitement — and pride — as the heritage of the North Sydney Bears was reflected in the design of this new chapter.

Within moments, people were lining up to get their hands on the new jersey, celebrating what it represents: two cities, one future.

The afternoon finished on a sweet note with custom-branded donuts featuring both the North Sydney Bears and Perth Bears logos — a fitting way to celebrate the beginning of something very special.

Thank you for believing in the Bears. Thank you for investing in our future. And thank you for standing fiercely united with us as we build what comes next.
