LEAGUE LEAVES SYDNEY & THRUSTS THE BEARS INTO THE SPOTLIGHT

Next week league is leaving Sydney and heading north for the NRL’s Magic Round in Brisbane and in doing so propelling our magnificent North Sydney Oval into the spotlight. The only game of live senior footy in the whole of Sydney for the weekend will be when the North Sydney Bears take on fellow foundation club Western Suburbs Magpies at Bear Park, on the night of Thursday 13th May kicking off at 7.30pm.

This is real footy. The action is close, you can hear every clash and every call. You can hear the coaches barking their orders and you can feel the tension as the kick is lined up. The players are the future stars of the big league with names like Suaalii, Hopoate, Bailey and Butcher all pulling on the red & black. Daniel Dickson, Chairman of the North Sydney Bears, says this is the “heart of rugby league and the North Shore of Sydney is really carving out a position that the NRL is proving hard to turn away from…again”.

The Bears are on the march again and this is the time to get out and cheer on your Bears. We asked Jason Taylor what it’s like to be back at North Sydney Oval again but this time in the coaches box, “That immense feeling you get when running out of the players tunnel at Bear Park is truly unforgettable and it is such an honour for me to pass it on to these young players coming through the ranks now. The ground has an energy that fills you. It was there when I played and is still there today. It’s an absolute beauty and is the best ground in NSW Cup for the players and as a spectator” commented Jason Taylor.

Major Partner Norths Collective CEO Luke Simmons is excited to see more big games being played at North Sydney Oval. “Norths Collective are proud to be a major sponsor of the mighty Bears and this weekend is a great opportunity for fans to get out and see a great live match on the best oval in Australia”.
