This season we are working closely with our NSW Cup medical partner, Axis Athletic, to provide our members & fans with regular player injury updates. We will keep this page updated on player injuries as they occur throughout the season.
AJ Gudgeon has been dealing with an ongoing quadricep issue that has kept in out for the last two rounds. He’s made very good progress in the last week and is expected to be available in the next week.
Sione Manakofua has unfortunately suffered a fracture to his right finger. This means he’ll be unable for at least the next four weeks.
Out of our long term rehabbers, Matt Lewin has begun his rehab process following ACL reconstruction. Matt is two weeks post-op and is beginning the initial phases of his rehabilitation.
Nathaniel Roache who suffered a Syndesmosis injury 4 weeks ago is making steady progress with his own rehab. Given Nate’s injury history his rehab process will be more conservative to ensure an effective and full recovery.

After a quiet few weeks we have picked up a couple of new injuries to report. Nathaniel Roache who has been playing regularly for Hills unfortunately suffered a syndesmosis injury last weekend. We’ll be seeking a surgical opinion on the injury.
Sean Vaivelata and Abiarthur Tuilaepa are both nearing a return to football in the coming weeks. With Sean being potentially as early as next round. Both have been very patient in their rehab process and are keen to return.
Speaking of returning to play. Ethyn Martin made his long-awaited return last round for Hills Bulls. Ethyn has overcome a couple of setbacks with his clavicle injury, and it’s great to see him make a successful return.

Riley Wake unfortunately suffered an injury in the Ron Massey game a couple of weeks ago. Further investigations have found that he’ll require a lengthy recovery period with his return at this stage indefinite. Unfortunate news for the young man. Riley has a great attitude towards this setback and will do all he can in his recovery process.
Bayden Moran unfortunately suffered an injury to his ankle last week at training which will keep him out until after our Round 13 bye.
Sean Vaivelata has returned to running over the last week after sustaining an injury to his right knee ahead of our Round 6 clash against the Raiders. A frustrating injury for Sean after returning to the field from a pre-season injury in Round 4. Like Bayden he’ll be looking to return to play after our upcoming bye.
In good news Jah Afoa has been cleared to return to all football activities after he suffered two concussions 4 weeks apart earlier in the season. Jah has had to go through an extensive process with independent doctors to be cleared to return. His safety is our priority, so it is good news for Jah to be cleared to return to the football field. He’ll spend the next few weeks getting back up to game ready fitness before he returns to play.
