2026 Season Launch

Well over 100 players, members, fans and corporate partners gathered at Depot Brewery on Tuesday night to officially launch the 2026 Knock-On Effect NSW Cup season. The event blended celebration with anticipation as guests enjoyed canapés, fresh pizzas and locally brewed beverages. Club legend and emcee Greg Florimo led proceedings, introducing CEO Gareth Holmes and a virtual address from Chairman Daniel Dickson. Followed by an inciteful Q&A with our head coaching staff and a chat with long-time supporter and CIP Managing Director Chris Haslehurst.

Perth Bears Logo Released

New Year. New Bear. Same Spirit. The Perth Bears unveiled their logo on the 14th January 2026 in anticipation of their inaugural 2027 NRL season. The logo was created by longtime passionate North Sydney Bears supporter and graphic designer Dave Carnovale. “The bear has evolved, but it remains a symbol that’s been close to Bears supporters for generations. Vale Bill Robinson

The North Sydney Bears are saddened by the passing of life member William “Bill” Robinson, aged 94, on Saturday 29th November 2025. Bill served the club for many years as our doorman, always greeting players and visitors with warmth, politeness and genuine care. As Greg Florimo shared: “Bill was always the epitome of politeness and good manners… A lovely bloke and a life member.”

2025 Awards Night

The City of Sydney sparkled as the red & black guests boarded the MV Bella Vista at King Street Wharf for the North Sydney Bears 2025 Awards Night. After such a wet season the weather lifted and the night was almost balmy, perfect for an early Spring cruise on the harbour. Dressed in cocktail attire with a champagne or Bears beer in hand, a jovial mood fell across the players, sponsors, staff and guests as the boat pushed back from the wharf ready for a magical night. Bears Day at the Races 2025

After a week of rain, the sun came out on Saturday morning and we were blessed with a beautiful day for our Bears Day at the Races held. Guests arrived early at the magnificent Ballroom at Royal Randwick Racecourse, ready for the first of 10 races to get underway at 11.50am. A wonderful event filled with Bears Legends, hot racing tips and an opportunity to raise funds for the Red & Black Foundation.

2025 U13s RISE Program

The RISE Program aims to provide aspirational Junior Rugby League players with the opportunity to participate in a holistic development program curated by NSWRL and delivered by the North Sydney Bears. Our first U13s RISE program got underway last month with the boys playing in a development squad gala on Wednesday 16th July at Heffron Park.

New Directors Announced 2025

The North Sydney Bears are delighted to announce the appointment of two outstanding new members, Jaimee Rogers and James Bracey, to the district club’s Board of Directors, effective immediately. These board additions come after the announcement that Bears legend, Billy Moore, has decided to step down as director to focus on his media career and other businesses. A motion supported at last week's board meeting to put forward Billy Moore for Life Membership at the next Annual General Meeting. This is a wonderful way to honour the immense contribution Moore has made to the Club over nearly four decades as a player, a board director and an ongoing club ambassador.

We had a brilliant time at our Bears Golf Day held last week at Monash Country Club Pty. Ltd. Some excellent performances on the greens while also raising money for our Red & Black Foundation that underpins the growth of rugby league in the North Sydney District.

2025 Beer, Footy Food Festival Photo Gallery

The crowds rolled into North Sydney Oval by the thousands on Sunday for a huge day of footy as we hosted our annual Beer, Footy Food Festival. Although the wind felt like it was straight off the Snowy Mountains, the sun shone, the beers flowed and the vibe was good all round.
