For those that have experienced it, you know what we are talking about, and for those yet to enjoy what a home game day at Bear Park is all about then check out the video below. The atmosphere, the pure enjoyment, the sense of belonging to a real club, that's what you get when you go watch the Bears play at North Sydney Oval. All these years, and we still get that feeling when the players run out of the tunnel and on to the field.

HARDMAN RETURNS TO THE BEARS

Playing rugby league is a journey, and this week the Bears had the honour to welcome back to the Red & Black 23-year-old prop D'Arcy Hardman. Hardman first joined the Bears in 2015 in our U15's Development Squad. He want on to play in the red & black for Harold Matts (U16s at that time) in 2016, SG Ball Cup (U18s at that time) in 2017 and 2018 and for our Jersey Flegg side in 2018.

State of Origin Luncheon Review

An event not to forget! Our annual Red & Black Foundation State of Origin luncheon was held last Friday at Norths Cammeray. Super coach Wayne Bennett captivated the audience with stories of Origin and coming up against the Bears at North Sydney Oval. We sat back and listened to four mates, Billy Moore, David Fairleigh, Mark Graham and Gary Larson regale stories and dig into each other, while Greg Florimo heckled from the floor. Delicious food was enjoyed, many a Bears beer was consumed and funds were raised to support the club's Red & Black Foundation.

Bears Legends League Tag Gala

We kicked off the Bears Legends Day with our first ever Bears Legends League Tag Gala. Five teams sweated it out on the field in a great show of sportsmanship and athleticism, culminating in a grand final between the Bears and a local touch footy team called the Jets. It was a close battle in the grand final with the teams going try for try but the Bears were victorious and ex-player and North Sydney Bears Life Member Curtis Johnston eagerly accepted the Cup. Well done to all who competed!

HM & SG Ball Cup 2023 Presentation Event

It was an honour to host our 2023 Harold Matthews and SG Ball Cup teams at North Sydney Oval on Saturday 3rd June. Following their season award presentation in the Bears Legends Lounge, the team were welcomed on field to be acknowledged for their massive efforts during the 2023 season. Thank you to Harold Matthews Cup Head Coach Paul Mamo and SG Ball Cup Head Coach Tony Clarke and his team for a fantastic season and we look forward to watching our junior representative program continue to go from strength to strength next year.

Roos v Stags in A-Grade

It was so good to see two local A-Grade teams go head-to-head on Saturday 3rd June 2023 at North Sydney Oval. Congratulations to Willoughby Roos who defeated the Pennant Hills/Cherrybrook Stags in a great game. There are now 5 A-Grade teams in the local district & senior footy is thriving in the North Sydney District.

2023 Winter Development Squads Announced

The North Sydney Bears are pleased to announce their 2023 Winter Development Squads. All player’s selected from within the district will be under the guidance of Bears representative coaches following a program set by KOE NSW Cup Head Coach Jason Taylor. We are also pleased to acknowledge and thank Magpies Waitara for their continued support and for returning as winter development squad partner for 2023. Congratulations to all players selected.

Tarsha Gale Cup 2023 Presentation Event

It was an honour to host our 2023 Tarsha Gale Cup team on field prior to the KOE NSW Cup game last Sunday at North Sydney Oval. Afterwards, the team were welcomed into the Bears Legends Lounge for their season awards event. Thank you to Head Coach Sa Patiole and his team for a fantastic season and we look forward to watching out female junior representative program continue to flourish next year.

2023 Team Lists: Round 12 NSW Cup

The red & black face another big game this Sunday in a top of the table clash when we take on the Canterbury Bulldogs at Bear Park. As we head into round 12, the Bears are sitting on top of the table, but we all know that comps aren't won at this point and the hard work to retain this position now begins. The team have been putting on some incredibly solid performances on field and remaining composed even when faced with challenges. After having a week off for the BYE, we can't wait to see them play again this Sunday at home. Get on down to cheer on the boys!

This June long weekend we are holding our inaugural Bears Legends League Tag Gala Day on the hallowed turf of North Sydney Oval. We are putting the call out to our Members, Fans, Legends, Junior League Community and the wider community to put together their teams and enter this awesome comp. The Gala will be played on Sunday 11th June prior to our NSW Cup Bears v Jets game.

State of Origin Luncheon

It's back, and it's going to be even bigger and better than last year! Join us on Friday 9th June for the North Sydney Bears annual State of Origin Luncheon that will be held at Norths in Cammeray. This is a fantastic not-to-be-missed event that promises an afternoon of league, legends and laughs. Master of Ceremonies James Bracey will lead guests through a review of game one of the 2023 State of Origin series and explore the great moments of the past with a host of special guest speakers, big names in league to be announced soon. Take time to mingle with Bears legends Mark Graham, Gary Larson, David Fairleigh, Billy Moore, Greg Florimo, Jason Taylor and many more who will be in attendance. Be amused by the red & black with hysterical comedians and live entertainment.

2023 Team Lists: Round 10 NSW Cup

As the NRL heads to Brisvegas, we will have three big games of NSW Cup footy on at North Sydney Oval this Saturday 6th May. Four foundation clubs of North Sydney, Souths, Easts and Wests along with the Eels and the Warriors will face off in an epic day of rugby league at Bear Park. Gates will open at 10.30am ahead of the clash between the Bunnies and the Roosters at 11am, followed by Bears v Warriors at 1pm and finishing off with Eels vs Magpies at 3pm.

2023 Team Lists: Semi Final HNWP & Round 8 NSW Cup

This Sunday our women's team head to Leichhardt Oval to play their Semi Final against Mounties. This is a do-or-die semi-final, and the winner will progress directly on to the Grand Final the following weekend. Our team is strong, and incredibly dedicated and we cannot wait to watch them take to the field on Sunday. Get behind the girls and cheer them on at Leichhardt! We also return back to North Sydney Oval this Sunday for our ANZAC Round. Kicking of the day will be the Australian Royal Navy vs the UK Royal Marines which is set to be a hard hitting game and a great spectacle.

2023 Team Lists: Round 7 NSW Cup and Round 11 HNWP

This Sunday we return to North Sydney Oval with a big day of footy on - two proud foundation clubs, North Sydney Bears and South Sydney Rabbitohs, will come together to challenge for two mighty cups. Our Harvey Norman women's Premiership team will take on the Bunnies for the second year in the Women in League Cup. Bears won the game in 2022 and we are aiming to retain the cup for the second year in a row. We will also be raising funds for women's cancer research on the day, so come support the Bears and help us tackle cancer.

2023 Team Lists: Round 6 NSW Cup and Round 10 HNWP

On Easter Saturday both our senior Men's and Women's teams are heading down the coast to Collegians Sporting Complex. Our NSW Cup team kick off at 1.45pm against the St George Illawarra Dragons, followed at 3.45pm by our Harvey Norman Women's Premiership team who will take on St George. Our Harvey's team has named another strong side for their round 10 clash and with only two rounds left in the regular season are keen to defend their top of the ladder position. Go get 'em ladies! Paul Momirovski backs up again for the Bears NSW Cup team this weekend and fellow Rooster Sitili Tupouniua joins him in the side. Jason Taylor's team has been building week on week this season and are looking to continue their four wins on the trot status. 2023 Team Lists: Round 5 NSW Cup and Round 9 HNWP & Junior Reps

This Saturday we have five big games at the summer home of the Bears Hills Grammar School with our U16s Academy, Harold Matthews and SG Ball teams taking on the Sydney Roosters, our Tarsha Gale Cup going up against the Panthers and finishing the day with our HNWP playing the Central Coast Roosters. This is the last round for our Junior Reps teams Harold Matthews, Tarsha Gale and SG Ball. Well done on a good season, the club is proud of the growth each team displayed and the resilience shown both on and off the field. Let's make Saturday a big one! Entry is $10 per adult and kids U16 are free, all funds go to supporting the Bears pathway programs. Coffee and food will be available. Come on out and support the Bears! Our NSW Cup boys are taking on the Sydney Roosters on Sunday afternoon at Wentworth Park, kick off at 3.15pm. This should be a great game as the Red & Black play the newly formed Tri-Colours for the first time in the KOE NSW Cup.
