We have lots of family friendly Red & Black activities planned including rugby league skills sessions with our NSW Cup and HNWP players, face painters, Bears temporary tattoos for big and small fans, meet Barney the Bear, interactive Q & A sessions with our players and coaching staff on what the 2022 season holds, 2022 Home & Alternate Playing Jerseys will be released and available for sale along with our new Bears merchandise range and our Chairman, Daniel Dickson, will address all with an update on Club activities and our NRL bid progress. This FREE event is not to be missed!

Boxing Bears
As our NSW Cup team prepares to take on the Newcastle Knights in round 1 of the Knock on Effect Cup this Sunday, on Tuesday night the boys escaped the big wet and hit up Boxing Works in Kings Cross for a variation on their training session. Fergus Mitra overseas the teams strength and conditioning playing a vital role in ensuring the team can compete at a high level for a full 80 minutes in not only a contact sport but ones that requires focused athleticism.

CIP Grows with the Bears in 2022
After joining the Bears last year as a major sponsor, Corporate Interior Projects (CIP) is set to expand their partnership with the Bears further in 2022. This year the logo CIProjects will be proudly featured on both sleeves of the Bears Knock on Effect NSW Cup Home and Alternate playing jerseys and across each of the Club’s junior representative teams playing kit. With great belief in the Bears, CIP have committed to an additional incentive payment when the team wins the Knock on Effect Premiership this season.

2022 Community Season Launch
Join us in celebrating the start of the 2022 season at our 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆, 𝟭𝟮𝗽𝗺 – 𝟮𝗽𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸. All welcome to attend this fun and free event! This is a great opportunity to meet the 2022 North Sydney Bears NSW Cup and Harvey Norman Women’s Team and Coaching Staff, plus hear from our Chairman Daniel Dickson on the direction of the Club for 2022 and beyond.

VALE OLSEN FILIPAINA
It is with great sadness that we hear of the passing of rugby league and Bears legend Olsen Filipaina, the Big O. He lost the fight today after battling kidney failure over the last fortnight at Westmead Hospital, aged 64.

Greg Florimo Gym Grand Opening
We had the great honour to officially open the Greg Florimo Gym at Norths Cammeray on Monday. This space is a huge asset to all of our teams and allows them to train at a high level, connect with physios and their trainers, review game footage and discuss game plans.

Harold Matthews 2022 Captains Announced
Today our Harold Matts (U17s Male Junior Reps) team announced their 2022 Captains, ahead of the new competition starting this Saturday. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗸𝘆𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝗼𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗻 on this wonderful and well earned accolade.

2022 SG Ball Cup Final Squad Announced
Congratulations to these young men selected as our 2022 SG Ball Cup team. Starting with over 400 applicants, enduring a tough pre-season and grueling training program it is a real achievement to be offered a chance to wear the Red & Black with pride. Well done to all!

2022 Tarsha Gale Cup Final Squad Announced

This group of young women have brought such energy, both on and off the field, to our Club and we are excited to watch them refine their skills, build their confidence and rip in when the competition starts on the 5th February. Wear the Red & Black with pride ladies, you earnt it!

2022 Harold Matthews Cup Final Squad Announced
These 29 young men have worked very hard during pre-season and have earnt their spot in the final team. Last night they were presented with their jersey and reminded of the honour it is to wear the Red & Black. Congratulations to all!

BEARS RETURN TO TRAINING
The safety of our players, staff and their families is of utmost importance to the Bears and thus we return with new processes in place. For 2022 we have implemented club-wide guidelines regarding covid-safety, covid awareness and also return-to-play and train post-covid protocols for our players and staff. "Ensuring our teams are able to continue to thrive in the current environment is essential as we head towards the start of the new season" stated Bears CEO, Gareth Holmes.

New Football Operations Manager Joins the Bears
It is with great pleasure that we introduce our new Football Operations Manager, Daniel Hutton, who will be overseeing all things on-field across all of our grades from Development Squads up to NSW Cup. Daniel brings with him a wealth of experience in rugby league having previously worked as an NRL Lead Game Development Officer

Vale Peter Mulholland
We were saddened to hear today of the passing of rugby league legend, Peter Mulholland, after a long battle with cancer. Peter has been an important contributor to rugby league for over 50 years as a player, coach and more recently as a renowned talent scout.

BEARS GO TECH IN 2022
This season we have ramped up our use of technology to give our teams and coaching staff the best possible support when training and during game day. We caught up with our Knock On Effect NSW Cup Analyst, Pat Gough, to find out what tech is being used and how it will impact our teams. To support Pat and expand our tech footprint across the Club in 2022, we have added two new Analysts, Oscar Green and Brooke Mugridge, to assist in supporting our Junior Reps and Women's programs.

NEAT TO HEADLINE BEARS LEGENDS LOUNGE IN 2022
In 2022 we are raising the bar of our game day experience with the introduction of the Bears Legends Lounge and are excited to announce that Neat will be joining us on this journey as named partner, the Neat Legends Lounge. Held on level two of the Molly Dive Stand, the lounge will be open at all Bears home games for exclusive use by 1908 Club Members, Bears Business Club Members and Sponsors as a fully catered experience. This is a place to rub shoulders with club legends both past and present.

Team Check In: Harold Matthews Cup
Over the next few weeks we will be checking in on each of our teams to see how pre-season training is going. With five teams currently training it is a feat of organisation to ensure each squad has access to field, gym, Physios, Trainers, Strength & Conditioning Coaches and, of course, their Head Coach to ensure they are maintaining a high level of performance.
To start the series, we chatted with Hayden Gregory, Strength & Conditioning Coach our our Harold Matthews Cup U17s junior representative squad. Hayden has been impressed with how the team is training so far "The boys are hitting three gym sessions a week in their own time and one with the club which is a high intensity strength and conditioning circuit."

Mammoth returns as Major Partner in 2022
Mammoth Projects return as a major partner of the North Sydney Bears female pathways programs for 2022. The sponsorship will see the Mammoth Projects logo featured across the upper back of jerseys of our Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership, Tarsha Gale Cup U19s and Lisa Fiaola Cup U17s teams for the coming season.

Bears visit the Brewery
Recently we were lucky enough to visit Six String Brewing Company to help with the canning of our limited edition Team of the Century Bear Park Brew. A few Bears legends, Michael Buettner, John McArthur, Greg Florimo and Jason Taylor, joined us on the tour including getting to sample the first of the special edition Bear Park Brew straight from the production line!

2021 Player Awards Announced
After another tumultuous year, it was our pleasure to honour the Bears Player's who gave their all and made a difference both on and off the field in 2021. Unfortunately we weren't able to hold a physical event this year but we were able to catch up with our award recipients virtually over Zoom to acknowledge their efforts and celebrate their successes.

Team of the Century by Bear Park Brew
We have been working closely with Six Strings Brewing on a very special limited edition release of Bear Park Brew that commemorates the North Sydney Bears Team of the Century. 18 individually designed cans each representing one of the Bears legends who were honoured with a jersey in our Team of the Century that was announced in 2006. Additionally, there are 6 can designs that represent our club logos and jersey designs over the last 113 years. These cans are collectors items that will be treasured by all supporters of the Red & Black for many years to come.

A New Era, our concept for the NRL
On Thursday 27th October, we released our initial roadmap to readmission to the NRL as the 18th team, this is something we have been working on this year and it's exciting to share this with all of our Members and fans. A New Logo
We are excited to unveil the first step on our roadmap to NRL readmission – 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗼. Bringing together over a century of heritage featuring 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻, our 𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗲𝗱 & 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗽𝘀 and represents our club, our people, and our brand as we build into a new era. The Club has always been vocal in our ultimate desire to return to the NRL and now our efforts are firmly focused on paving the way for the Bears as the 18th team.

2022 NSW Cup Signings
As we prepare for the 2022 season, we announce our latest Knock On Effect NSW Cup signings. Our Head of Recruitment, Pat Weisner, and Head Coach, Jason Taylor, have been scouring the talent nationwide to select the best on-field to take us all the way to a Premiership next year.
