The North Sydney Bears proudly congratulate Mary’s House Services on celebrating ten years of extraordinary community-led support for women and children escaping domestic and family violence.

The milestone was recognised at a special reception hosted by Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, at Admiralty House on Friday, 1 May. The event acknowledged the remarkable impact Mary’s House Services has made over the past decade through compassion, advocacy and life-changing support for vulnerable women and children across the community.

Representing the North Sydney Bears at the reception were Bears legend and the club’s Wellbeing, Education and Community Manager Greg Florimo and North Sydney Bears Board Director Jaimee Rogers, attending in support of one of the club’s most valued community partners.

Upon arrival, Her Excellency was eager to learn more about the connection between the Bears and Mary’s House Services and was deeply impressed by the strength and purpose of the partnership. The Governor-General spoke glowingly of the initiative and later referenced the collaboration during her official address, congratulating both organisations on the meaningful work being undertaken together off the field to raise awareness of domestic and family violence within rugby league and the wider community.

The partnership between the North Sydney Bears and Mary’s House Services represents the powerful role sporting organisations can play in creating positive social change.
