The Bears hit the road on Saturday, travelling to the Newcastle Knights Centre of Excellence where they claimed a 34-16 win over the Newcastle Knights. Sitting in third place and just two competition points behind North Sydney, the Knights presented a significant challenge, making the win all the more important. The high energy in the sheds after full-time reflected just how much the result meant to the playing group.

One of the greatest privileges of working for the Family of League Foundation is that you never quite know where a phone call will lead. In late January 2026, I received a call from Carlye at Impact Community Health Service in Agnes Water. Carlye was supporting a gentleman in the local community through the ICHS Social prescription program and wondered if there might be an opportunity for the Foundation to provide some social support. That gentleman was former North Sydney Bears first-grade player John "Sully" Sullivan.
