Our Harold Matts team secured their second win of the season defeating Melbourne Storm last Saturday. At the half time mark the boys were leading 22 – 0 with tries by Noah Tafengatoto, Isaac Khoudair, Samuel Ive and Cohen Riddell. Saxon Gaw successfully converted 3 from 4. The second half saw the Storm coming out guns blazing and clawed but the scoreline with 4 converted tries. Bears were able to hold on to their lead and bring home the win. Second half try scorers were Saxon Gaw, Isaac Khoudair and Byron Carragher and Isaac Youkhana converted 1 from 3.

SG Ball were unable to carry last week’s win forward as Melbourne Storm brought the electricity in round 3. From the kickoff Storm were switched on and aggressive in the pursuit of the points. They locked down 8 tries to 3, dominating the second half. Bears try scorers were Aiden Crowley, Silaumuaoaana Talaese Fomai and Tainyn Clarken. Brandon Navarro converted 2 from 3.

This weekend, SG Ball take on the Bulldogs at Hammondville Oval while Harold Matts and our U16 Academy Team go up against Balmain Tigers at Lidcombe Oval.

SECOND TRIAL! Our Knock-On Effect NSW Cup team move on to play their second trial game this weekend. On Sunday we will play in a three-way trial between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the St George Illawarra Dragons at Erskineville Oval. Bears v Bunnies will kick off at 4.20pm followed at 5.10pm by Bears v Dragons. This trial will see the bulk of our main 2025 team take to the field.

Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale Cup will be back again this Saturday at the summer home of the Bears, Hills Grammar School, to take on the Cronulla Sharks. Both teams are fresh from a bye round and ready to get back on the paddock.
