Last Friday we hosted our first business breakfast event for 2024 at The Greens North Sydney, Breakfast with Bellamy. It was an honour to welcome to the stageΒ one of the most decorated coaches in the NRL and the current Head Coach of our partner club, Melbourne Storm Craig Bellamy. Bellamy played 150 first grade games for the Canberra Raiders from 1982 – 1992 and has gone on to coach Melbourne Storm for over 20 years.
Bellamy spoke openly about his path to coaching and his early days playing in Oberon. He went on to talk about the current form of the Melbourne Storn team and what it’s like to have Cameron Smith and Billy Slater as club mentors. The infamous grueling preseason training camp in Geelong was raised and he stated its importance is in quickly finding out the make and break of a player as well as their commitment to the team. He praised the new relationship with the Bears and the need for the NRL side to have quality partner in the premier NSW Cup competition.
While guests devoured a delicious hot breakfast made by The Greens, Bears Chairman Daniel Dickson and CEOΒ Gareth Holmes discussed the Bears current season in the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup and how the club is pushing hard for readmission in the NRL as the 18th team. An entertaining and informative morning that fostered strong networking opportunities within the wider local business community. We look forward to hosting more in the near future.
