After a successful trial against the Sunshine Coast Falcons on Saturday 8th February, four Bears contracted players have now been selected to accompany the Melbourne Storm NRL squad to New Zealand to trial against the Warriors. Nathaniel Roache has been named in jersey #16, Ben Talty in #17, Morgan Harper in #18 and Tui Katoa has had a lot call up to pull on #28.

Ben Talty was honoured to captain the Storm side in Brisbane, leading by example and doing both himself and the Bears proud.

All four players have been training at various times across the pre-season with the Storm NRL squad in Melbourne. The Storm coaching staff have been very impressed with the skills and focus of our boys and are keen to see how they perform in Saturday’s trial.

These opportunities are crucial in ensuring our Bears players train and play at the highest level of the game and allows our club to continue to attract the level of player we have had the privilege to contract over the last few years.

Any NZ based Bears members and fans are encouraged to cheer on our boys this Saturday at FMG Stadium in Hamilton, kick off 1.30pm.
