While our Harold Matts boys enjoyed a much-needed break with their BYE round, our SG Ball and U16s Academy headed to Cronulla to take on the Sharks. Both squads faced fierce opposition and just couldn’t seem to halt the onslaught. The try scorers for SG Ball were Silaumuaoaana Talaese Fomai and Brodie Alderdice, with Barndon Navarro converting one from two.
Our Lisa Fiaola Cup and Tarsha Gale Cup both went up against the Panthers. Tarsha Gale played very competitively going down only 4 tries to 5 but lacking in the goal kicking. The team showed real growth and connectedness on the field. Charis Toli was almost unstoppable with four tries for the Bears! Lisa Fiaola had a hard day and could not seem to find their footing in the game. The Bears side of the scoreboard remained scoreless throughout.
This weekend, SG Ball, Harold Matts and U16 Academy all take on the Bunnies at Redfern Oval. Our female pathway teams are off to Aubrey Keech Reserve to go head to head with our long time rivals, the Manly Sea Eagles.
Our Knock-On Effect NSW Cup team kick off their season this Sunday 9th March against fellow foundation club the Sydney Roosters at Wentworth Park.
