Get ready for your first taste of senior Bears footy for the season as we go up against the Newcastle Rebels this Saturday, 15th February, at the summer home of the Bears, Hills Grammar School. Gates will open at 12pm ahead of the 12.30pm kick followed by Harold Matthews Cup at 2.30pm and SG Ball at 4pm. FREE entry before 1.30pm!

Unfortunately, our planned trial game against the Penrith Panthers NRL squad has been cancelled. The Panthers had requested to scrimmage with the Bears in preparation for their game in Vegas however as four of our senior players have now been pulled across to play in the Melbourne Storm trial in New Zealand, Head Coach Ivan Cleary decided to run an internal opposed session instead. We thank the 2024 NRL Premiers for initially choosing the Bears!

The following weekend we take on both the Bunnies and the Dragons in a three-way trial at Erskineville Oval on Sunday 23rd February. Bears will play one half against the Rabbitohs followed by our second half against the Dragons. This trial will give our team a great 80 minutes of footy in preparation for our round 1 game on Sunday 9th March when we take on the Sydney Roosters at Wentworth Park. This trial game is open to all to attend and will be free entry.

Reminder that trial games are not scored as it is an opportunity for the coaching team to test player combinations and allow the new or younger players to show what they have got in a game format.
