He’s back!

Bears favourite Curtis Johnston has returned to where it all began, signing on with the North Sydney club for season 2018. Having spent the last 3 seasons at Redcliffe in the Queensland cup and getting to the Grand Final in 2016, a call was made and Curtis could not resist the opportunity to come back into the Bears ranks.

“I’m very happy to be back, I had a great stint in Qld but it was time to come home,” Curtis said. “I have the Bears in my blood and am keen to add my enthusiasm and positive energy to the team. I am still the same player and want to help out the young players in the team with my experience, and make sure we play with passion. I want to play as many games as I can, run as hard as I can and win a grand final with the Bears.”

North Sydney general manager stated “We are very excited to have Curtis back in the ranks. He was a powerhouse player for the Bears during his stint here from 2009 – 2014, scoring 97 tries and consistently carrying the ball for over 100 metres. He is now a more experienced and rounded player, and I expect that it won’t be too long before we see him crossing the try line for the Bears again.”

Curtis is a chance of being named in our mother’s day match up this Sunday 11:45am at North Sydney Oval when we take on the Panthers. Stay tuned to the Bears social media pages for more information.
