He’s back!

Bears favourite Curtis Johnston has returned to where it all began, signing on with the North Sydney club for season 2018. Having spent the last 3 seasons at Redcliffe in the Queensland cup and getting to the Grand Final in 2016, a call was made and Curtis could not resist the opportunity to come back into the Bears ranks.

β€œI’m very happy to be back, I had a great stint in Qld but it was time to come home,” Curtis said. β€œI have the Bears in my blood and am keen to add my enthusiasm and positive energy to the team. I am still the same player and want to help out the young players in the team with my experience, and make sure we play with passion. I want to play as many games as I can, run as hard as I can and win a grand final with the Bears.”

North Sydney general manager stated β€œWe are very excited to have Curtis back in the ranks. He was a powerhouse player for the Bears during his stint here from 2009 – 2014, scoring 97 tries and consistently carrying the ball for over 100 metres. He is now a more experienced and rounded player, and I expect that it won’t be too long before we see him crossing the try line for the Bears again.”

Curtis is a chance of being named in our mother’s day match up this Sunday 11:45am at North Sydney Oval when we take on the Panthers. Stay tuned to the Bears social media pages for more information.
