On a perfect spring morning we recently held our annual official Business to Business Networking “Breakfast with the Bears” at The Greens North Sydney. This was co-hosted by corporate partners Zoom in association with Business North Shore.
After morning coffees and business networking Dave Perry (Bears CEO) welcomed approximately 100 guests which included Trent Robinson and CEO Joe Kelly from the Roosters, Shontelle Stowers and Kirra Dibb from our women’s team, club past greats John Gray, Bruce Walker and Greg Florimo, North Sydney Bears Directors, local businesses and partners of the Bears.
Michael Chetner (Zoom’s head of APAC) presented their video first communications platform explaining how they are changing and improving the way business can communicate.
After a breakfast of fresh fruit and bacon and eggs Channel 9 presenter James Bracey – Bears Ambassador and Number 1 ticket holder provided an entertaining interview with Bears head coach Jason Taylor and Sydney Roosters head coach Trent Robinson. The two discussed leadership and effective communication in football operations and of course the footy finals. Most interesting was the relationship between Jason and Trent and how closely they work ensuring both the Bears and the Roosters field their best teams each week.
A highlight of the morning was Trent Robinson choosing a winner of a signed Roosters jersey from the business card draw – the person that won the jersey was ‘Wayne Bennett’. Trent was visibly surprised given they were playing the Rabbits that evening but a bit relieved that the ‘Wayne Bennett’ that won the jersey was a North’s director who happens to share the same name!
Chairman Perry Lopez closed the successful networking morning thanking all for attending.
