Current agreement with South Sydney Football Club

To our members and fans,

You may be aware of some recent commentary made about our affiliation arrangement with the South Sydney Football Club.

As we head into the first round of the 2018 season, I would like to clarify our current agreement with Souths and assure our supporters that we are committed to securing the long term success of the club.

The Bears recently signed a 2-year feeder club agreement that incorporates the 2018 and 2019 seasons.  The agreement is for the ISP NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg sides.

Comments were made at the recent Souths AGM by the Head of Football Shane Richardson that the club would be reviewing their post-2019 position around the Flegg and ISP teams.

As I stated, we are contracted with Souths to the end of the 2019 season and as such our priority is to be the best football club across all grades.

The Board of the North Sydney District Rugby League Football Club remains totally committed to our full participation in the NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg competitions well beyond 2019.

To that end the Board will be undertaking a full review of our post-2019 position to ensure we continue to have a strong and active future in the NSWRL’s top grade.
