On Saturday 22nd July 2023, we held our inaugural U8 and U9 Gala Day where local junior league players contested for the Greg Florimo Shield in each age group. It was a great day and awesome to see such talent from the young players. The games were played on mini fields under modified rules, with historic North Sydney Oval as the back drop. The grand final games were played as a curtain raiser to the main game, Bears v Dragons. The legend himself, Greg Florimo, was on hand to cheer on the teams and present both the shields and medals to the players.
Congratulations to the Willoughby Roos on winning the U8s and Hills Hawks on winning the U9s Greg Florimo Shields!
After the gala day, the junior players were invited to run out of the players tunnel ahead of the NSW Cup Bears v Dragons teams on to the field.
Well done to all teams that participated and we hope to see you back at Bear Park again very soon.
