WEEKEND GAMES
This Friday marks the start of the 2023 Knock On Effect NSW Cup competition and to kick things off Bears take on Panthers at BlueBet Stadium for Friday Night Footy. Our boys have been training solidly since November under the guidance of Head Coach Jason Taylor and his coaching staff. Our Head of Recruitment, Pat Weisner, has worked hard to build a strong 30+ Bears contracted roster for the team which has seen the introduction of many new faces to the red & black and a new team dynamic created. The players are itching to get back on the field and put their efforts to work, and of course simply play the game they love. And we can’t wait to watch them play! This game is not a live stream game, keep up to date with scores on our official Facebook, Instagram and Twitter social pages.
Our mighty women’s team are sitting in top position on the ladder after defeating Wenty Magpies convincingly on the weekend, 48 – 12. We welcomed back into the team Kirra Dibb who played her first game of the season for the Bears on Saturday. Dibb has stepped in as the team’s conversion kicker and also nabbed the final try of the game, to which she converted her own try. Rikeya Horne and Jakiya Whitfeld continued their dominance as try scorers both walking away with a double. For round 5, the girls will take on the Bulldogs on Monday night at the NSWRL Centre of Excellence. Tune in and watch all the action on the NSWRL Live Stream!
Check out all of our teams named for this weekend’s games below. As Billy Moore says “it’s not good luck, luck has nothing to do with it. You put the effort in, and you push for that extra 1% to make the difference”. Come on you Bears!
