Bears attend Melbourne Storm pre-season camp

As part of our player partnership with Melbourne Storm, select Bears players are given the opportunity to head down to Melbourne to train with the Storm NRL squad.  Giving our players opportunities to train at an NRL level is important to the ongoing success of the Bears NSW Cup squad as a whole. Access to high performance centres, coaches and the ability to train alongside some of the best players in the NRL is not only beneficial to the selected Bears players but has a trickle affect down to all.

In December, Nathaniel Roache and Morgan Harper trained with the Storm Squad and in January Ben Talty joined the infamous Geelong pre-season camp. All three players will then head into NRL trial games with Melbourne Storm in February.

Alongside the Bears players, our Head Coach Tony Barnes and Assistant Coach Joel Scrivener were also invited to join the Storm coaches at the Geelong camp. Again, this is a fantastic opportunity to upskill our coaching staff, connect with the Storm players that may play in the red & black this season and set the Bears NSW Cup team up for another strong season on field.
