Congratulations to our Bears players

Four of The North Sydney Bears will feature in the Intrust Super NSW Residents team to play QLD on 24th June. Billy Brittain – Our Captain and known for his competitive spirit and leadership qualities playing as hooker. Mawene Hiroti – known for his speed and versatility, has mainly played as a centre but also capable of playing on the wing and at fullback. Dean Britt – tough, valuable and capable of playing both in the back row and front row. Shane Millard – coach of the NSW Team. NSWRL.com.au will live stream the fixture, which will kick off at 4.10pm AEST at ANZ Stadium, prior to State of Origin Game Two.

Also congratulations to Tom Freebairn who was selected in the NSW Pioneers team to take on their QLD Rangers yesterday on the Gold Coast. The NSW team was made up of Ron Massey Cup players and their Newcastle counterparts, with Tom having played some games for Asquith in the Ron Massey Cup competition this year. Unfortunately NSW lost the game 46-16, however Tom was a standout in a beaten side for the Pioneers, proving his worth as a player of potential.

Bears General Manager Football, Greg Florimo commented, “Congratulations to the four players and to Shane Millard who have been selected to represent NSW take on QLD. It is always a great honour to represent your state at any level, and for these players it is due recognition for their effort so far this season.”
