Mounties led for 79 minutes but a last-second penalty goal to Bears fullback Eli Levido secured a point for the home side.

A mistake from the kick-off gave the Bears a great opportunity to open the scoring, but Mounties held on as both sides fought for the win.

Bears coach Ben Gardiner said it was a good effort by the boys but too many mistakes were made early on in the match.

“We gave away some easy points but the boys did well to hold on.

They put pressure on the Mounties and slowly worked their way back up.

I am confident we can fix these mistakes and come home with a win this weekend”.

The Bears take on Newcastle Knights this Sunday 23 July in their final home game at North Sydney Oval. Kick off at 3:00pm.

NORTH SYDNEY BEARS 20 (tries: Tautalatasi Tasi, Luke Kelly, Toby Rudolf, conversions: Eli Levido 3),
drew with MT. PRITCHARD MOUNTIES 20 (tries: Brent Naden, Alofi Mataele, Michael Oldfield, Jack Nelson conversions: Isaac John 2).
