The North Sydney Bears are happy to announce the addition of Ben Gardiner to the football staff as Head of Recruitment & Retention as well as ISP Assistant Coach to Jason Taylor.

Ben has recently returned from international duties as the Assistant Coach for the New Zealand international team working under Michael McGuire. CEO David Perry spoke of the significance of adding Ben to the team, “Ben will play a very important role setting us up not just for the 2019 season but for the years to come. He has some very impressive experience in Rugby League, in particularly his recent work for the New Zealand international team. Ben has hit the ground running making some notable signings in his first two weeks”.

Ben Gardiner has wasted little time in securing the signatures of three players for the 2019 season. He speaks about his excitement for joining the club as well as the players he has signed. “I’m looking forward to working with Jason Taylor and the rest of the Bears staff in building a quality football program under the new feeder arrangement with the Roosters. I am also excited to announce the signings of Ed Murphy, Vincent Leuluai and Kieran Moss this week. All players come with exceptional quality and experience in either the NRL or Super League & considerable experience and representative honours in the Intrust Super Premiership.”

Ed Murphy returns to the club after a season with Mounties and the Canberra Raiders. He played for the club in 2015-2017 and has recently played in the NSW Residents team that won the interstate challenge. Ed is a centre who can play both wing and back row; and brings over 80 games of ISP experience, as well as leadership into the Bears. Ed was selected in the centres for the ISP team of the year in 2017.

Vincent Leuluai played for the Bears in 2018 as part of the recent feeder arrangement, but joins the Bears to continue his rise as a forward. ‘Vinnie’ has had stints at the Melbourne Storm and the Sydney Roosters prior to his time at South Sydney and has played NRL whilst at the Storm.

Kieran Moss returns to rugby league in Australia after a stint in the English Super league. Kieran has previously played at Parramatta; and developed his football in the NYC and ISP prior to that at the foot of the mountains at Penrith. Kieran plays fullback, 5/8 and wing. He brings premiership winning experience at an ISP and NYC level with Penrith on several occasions, as well as try scoring expertise from his time in the UK.

We welcome Ben, Ed, Vincent and Kieran to the club!

The Bears will be announcing player signings fortnightly over the off-season.
