The Bears are pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Crawford as a Director of the NSDRLFC Board, bringing with him strong working knowledge of the NRL having been involved at both a club and league level. Tony has broad experience and success across multiple industry sectors, with focus in operational leadership combined with exceptional financial skills to drive outcomes. As Chief Financial Officer and Head of Club & State Services of the NRL from 2013 – 2020, Tony led the planning and execution of strong NRL financial results, building a war chest that ultimately allowed the NRL to successfully meet the financial challenges COVID brought to professional sport. Tony also led the restructure of a number of NRL clubs, including the leagues ownership and later sale of the Newcastle Knights and Gold Coast Titans. Tony will be a key leader in our push for readmission to the NRL as the 18th team.
Tony joins our existing board members that consists of Chairman Daniel Dickson, Deputy Chairman Peter McGrath, Billy Moore, Michael Chetner, Guy Gunasekera, Marty Lawson and Justin Owen.
We would also like to announce that long standing director, Mark Dowel, has now stood down from the board. We thank Mark for 14 successful years on the Bears board. During this time, he was a keen advocate of our Junior Representative programs, ensuring the programs growth and acted as manager of our Harold Matthews (2012) and SG Ball (2018) teams. Mark is also a Life Member of the District Club and the North Sydney Junior League and has been involved in the district for over 25 years. We wish Mark all the best and look forward to welcoming you to Bear Park as an ongoing supporter for many years to come.
Please welcome Tony Crawford to the Bears.
