Celebrate Old Bears Day this Sunday

The North Sydney Bears will be celebrating Old Bears Day when they host the Bulldogs for their first home game this Sunday April 7 at North Sydney Oval.

Old Bears Day presented by Buyrite Steele QLD, will provide lifelong Bears fans an opportunity to watch their team with some Bears legends as former players will be sitting on the hill for the Canterbury Cup NSW match at 1:10pm.

Managing Director of Buyrite Steele QLD, Ben O’Bryan, has a special reason to be supporting the day, “I’m really proud to be supporting Old Bears Day as my father, Dinny O’Bryan, played for the Bears and the club has always been a special part of my family.”

Bears CEO David Perry is calling on all past and present fans to come support this unique occasion, “It is an exciting community day for the club, we will have three matches on the day starting with our Women’s team playing at 10:00am followed by Jersey Flegg and then finishing with our main event playing in front of our Bears Legends that are watching the match from the hill. It is a great opportunity for Members and fans to put on their old Bears jerseys and enjoy a footy game and a drink with former NRL legends.”

The club will also be presenting player medals to former Bears players and family representatives, and will take place prior to the kick off of the main game before the Older Bears form a guard of honour for our current players.

There will be fun for the whole family on the day with jumping castles, face painters and music as well as great giveaways such as unlimited rides family passes to Luna Park.

Gates open at 9:30am, entry is $10 for adults, $5 for concessions and kids under 16 are FREE!

After the match all teams and the Old Bears will be heading back to Norths League Club for presentations and the club would love to see Members and fans to join them.
