As the other semi-finalists in the Knock On Effect NSW Cup battled it out last Saturday at North Sydney Oval, the Bears enjoyed the week off. A week off from game day that is, the team has been working extra hard on the training field and in the gym. Securing the minor premiership was a fantastic achievement, but the job is not done yet and all at the club are fully focused on taking it all the way this season. That said, finals are a journey, and the next step is taking on the Rabbitohs at Leichhardt Oval this Saturday. Out of the last nine clashes with the Bunnies, we have each won 4 game and drawn one – this will be another almighty clash for sure. With the Rabbitohs NRL team now knocked out of the finals series in the top league, their team can be bolstered from above and will be coming in strong. The Bears feeder club the Sydney Roosters are still fighting for their chance in the NRL finals which will mean less NRL player presence in our team this Saturday. Undeterred, the red & black squad is fit, hungry for success and has the grit to get the job done. We have seen what this tight knit team can do, and we look forward to backing them once again on the field at Leichhardt. Come on you Bears!
With the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles being knocked out in week one, the Warriors face up against the Raiders in an elimination final. The winner of this game will play the loser of the above-mentioned major semi-final the following week. Both of these teams are gunning to go all the way and will be a formidable force to overcome.
Get down to Leichhardt Oval this Saturday to cheer on the Bears. Bring your flags, wear your red & black and let’s make them hear us ROAR!
