The Bears announce new role for Greg Florimo

Greg Florimo

It is with great excitement that the club announces a new role for Greg Florimo within the North Sydney Bears – Wellbeing, Education and Community Manager. Our Club has taken great steps forward in the past 12 months, with the appointment of a Chief Executive Officer, a Recruitment and Retention Manager as well as a new Marketing and Commercial team. The next piece in the puzzle is this role, one that is now an important part of the Rugby League landscape.

The NRL, NSWRL and the North Sydney Club are committed to providing support, education and guidance to our young players, helping them to be the best players and people they can be. There is a real focus in the game on player wellbeing, career and education and every player is to be a part of the program and have access to 1 on 1 support. The Bears will have over 120 players contracted this season, ranging from 14 – 35 years old, men and women, and we want to help them to be fulfilled, healthy and ready to play.

Greg spoke of what his new role entails and his excitement to get started, “The role will also see me adopt the same principles to our community, the Bears community, connecting and caring and bringing people together. Rugby League can be an ice breaker in so many environments, and I will be working with not only our identified family but also within the Norths Group and the North Sydney Junior Rugby League. My goal is to bring North Sydney oval to life, celebrating with our community partners on game day and supporting the Bears.”

Bears Chairman Perry Lopez added, “We are thrilled to have Flo take on this new and important role within our club. The well-being and future advancements of our players is crucial in who we are as a club. I look forward to seeing great outcomes from this new role that Flo is undertaking.”
