As the rugby league world heads over to Las Vegas for the 2024 NRL Season Opening, we want to be there too. We are calling on any Bears members who are making the grand trip to Vegas to champion the red & black with a specially made, limited edition Bears Training Top. Wear the Bear in Vegas!

Joining our 2024 Tarsha Gale and Lisa Fiaola Cup squads this season are eight remarkable young women who have jumped at the opportunity to train with the Bears. These ladies have relocated from Townsville, where they have been attending boarding school, to join our female junior representative teams for the summer period. Nyeema Tuua is part of our Lisa Fiaola Cup (U17s) team and Bronte Morrison, Charlize Barrett, Lalita Kris, Latisha Kaitap, April Major, Lynette Bosuen and Ebony Sotheren-Hatton bolstering our Tarsha Gale Cup (U19s) squad. The group of talented indigenous players originate from across Far North Queensland and the Northern Territory, with some coming from as far as Moa Island in the Torres Strait Island archipelago.

As the clouds darkened and threatened to unleash on Tuesday afternoon, the guys started to roll in for the first training session of the new season. A buzz was in the air, some new faces, returning players and a new Head Coach. It's always exciting to get a new season underway, and off the back of such a successful 2023 season for our Knock-On Effect NSW Cup team this one was filled with a sense of even more promise of what is installed for the mighty red & black in 2024.

Be the first to own the new release Bear Park Gin, a gin born from a collaboration between two North Sydney locals - Finders Distillery and the North Sydney Bears. Bear Park Gin pays homage to our iconic club and the place we call home, North Sydney Oval. As you enter Bear Park, you are welcomed with the smell of freshly cut grass and the sight of the majestic Moreton Bay Fig Tree standing pride of place. This gin see’s Finders Distillery’s Internationally Acclaimed Australian Dry Gin re-imagined with the addition of sweet fig & vibrant lemongrass to encapsulate the spirit of Bear Park. These will be a great memorabilia piece and make a wonderful gift.

From big cats to grizzly bears, we welcome all action centre Matt Stimson to the Bears Knock On Effect NSW Cup team in 2024. Stimson played the last two seasons with the Penrith Panthers making an impact when on the field.

We wish to advise our members that Jason Taylor, Knock On Effect NSW Cup Head Coach, will be leaving the Bears to take on the assistant coaching role at the Canterbury Bulldogs in 2024. Taylor was appointed as our NSW Cup Head Coach in late 2018 and has now completed five successful seasons. Under his guidance the Bears football program has continued to raise the bar of professionalism and the 2023 season is tribute to the hard work and dedication he has maintained during his tenure with the Bears.
